Meditation for Everyone

Welcome to Vajrayogini Buddhist Center. We are located at 156 Newtown Road in Virginia Beach, with branch classes in Norfolk at the Fred Heutte Center. Vajrayogini Buddhist Center is now entering its sixth year of offering weekly meditaiton classes and monthly workshops to the general pubplic.

We are dedicated to helping people find peace in their busy lives. We offer Buddha’s timeless teachings in a simple, practical manner that can help you solve your problems and find happiness from within. Please come whenever you like, and just as you are—we’re always happy to meet new friends!

Where to Start

We provide a variety of classes suited to different levels of interest and experience, all open to the general public. General Program classes provide an introduction to basic Buddhist view, meditation, and practice.

You do not need to be a Buddhist to attend the Center or to benefit from practices such as meditation. Everyone is welcome!

Featured Video: Where Do our Problems Come From?

Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition. She teaches at National and International Festivals throughout the year. We will be attending her teachings at the US National Festival next year in New York, April 27th through May 2nd, 2012.

The above video teaching is from a commentary on the chapter “What is Karma?” in the book Modern Buddhism, which is being distributed free of charge as an eBook. The author, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, says: “Through reading and practicing the instructions given in this book, people can solve their daily problems and maintain a happy mind all the time.”

So that these benefits may pervade the whole world, the author wishes to offer this eBook freely to everyone. Download it here.

Supporting the Center

As a non-profit organization, Vajrayogini Buddhist Center depends entirely upon the memberships and donations of our local Sangha. Please support your Center and create the causes for greater peace and happiness in your community. No one is ever turned away from classes because of lack of funds.
