Our Mother Center in DC
Our mother Center is located in Washington, DC. Vajrayogini Buddhist Center offers meditation classes, workshops, retreats, study programs, and spiritual community in the tradition of Kadampa Buddhism as brought to the West from Tibet by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. As a member of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union, Vajrayogini Center is one of over 1200 Kadampa centers and groups around the world.
The Hampton Roads Sangha was started in 2006 at the request of local students and today it continues to provide a place of peace and tranquility in the seven cities. We offer Buddha’s timeless teachings in a simple, practical manner that can help you solve your problems and find happiness from within.
About Vajrayogini Buddhist Center
This name was given to the Center by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Vajrayogini is a Deity (or fully enlightened being) of Highest Yoga Tantra. She is the embodiment of the mind of indestructible great bliss and wisdom realizing ultimate truth.
Through receiving an empowerment of Vajrayogini by a qualified Teacher and then practicing her sadhana (a Tantric meditation), we can attain the same state of mind ourself.
