Eight Steps to Happiness - Tuesdays
If you have been attending General Program classes and are ready for more, you might enjoy the Foundation Program (FP). The next step in deepening your practical experience of Buddha’s teachings, FP is a second-tier study program that studies one Buddhist text at a time in a systematic way.
Foundation Program classes include guided in-depth meditations, commentary to the text, chanted prayers, Q&A, and the company of spiritual friends.
For 2013 we will be studying Eight Steps to Happiness by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso:
• An inspiring explanation of one of Buddhism’s best-loved teachings on loving-kindness
• Practical instructions on how you can transform life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights
• Essential advice on how to awaken your potential for limitless love, compassion and wisdom
Eight Steps to Happiness (eBook now available) explains 8 beautiful verses that comprise one of Buddhism’s best-loved and most enduring teachings. These teachings show us how to open our heart, the source of all true happiness. For centuries these methods have brought inspiration and serenity to the peoples of the East. Now Geshe Kelsang has skillfully introduced these ancient pearls of wisdom into our modern lives.
