Wishfulfilling Jewel prayers with tsog offering
Wishfulfilling Jewel is a more extensive version of Heart Jewel. In the first part of the practice, we visualize our Spiritual Guide as Je Tsongkhapa. Through relying on this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive blessings. In the second part of the puja, we practice relying upon the Dharma Protector, which helps us to overcome obstacles to our practice and creates favorable conditions.
Wishfulfilling Jewel contains the two essential practices of the New Kadampa Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism. By engaging in this practice sincerely we shall naturally accomplish all the realizations of the stages of the path to enlightenment and, according to Geshe Kelsang, we shall attain a very special Dharma wisdom.
During this practice, we make a special food offering known as a tsog offering—the offering of the community—to create a vast amount of positive energy for ourselves and others. Please bring a vegetarian finger food to share.
Everyone is welcome to participate in these beautiful prayers. We recommend that you arrive about fifteen minutes early to be seated and relaxed at the start of the session.
